Why is my local IP different?

Can an IP address identify me?
Usually no. A public IP can reveal general network and location context, but it does not prove a person, device, or exact physical address by itself.
Why does my IP address change?
Many ISPs assign dynamic addresses. Your visible IP can change after a router restart, when using mobile networks, or when switching Wi-Fi, VPN, or proxy connections.
How do I check another IP?

Why is the location wrong?
Location is estimated from IP databases rather than your device’s GPS. A mobile gateway, VPN, proxy or outdated record can place the address in a different city. Treat the location as general network context.
